Realtor.com’s July 2013 Survey Underscores the Importance of Schools In Home Buyer Decisions

Lafayette CA divided into the four “neighborhoods” that feed into it’s top rated public elementary schools. School boundaries change. Check with the Lafayette School District office for up to date 94549 school information.

If you are like most of the families with children who move to Lafayette, Realtor.com’s July 2013 “Back to School” Survey results are no surprise.  We know Lafayette’s Blue Ribbon schools are the big real estate draw here. So are the schools in Moraga and Orinda.

It’s nice, though, to have the survey results as further proof.

Based on data collected between July 18-22, Realtor.com says that 3 out of 5 home buyers consider school boundaries important when making their home buying decision. Many indicated they’d be willing to pay a premium for a home in the right school district and/or trade home amenities that ranged from a spa to access to trails and parks for the ability to send their children to top schools.

This is all good news for home sellers here, and has been for some time.
