Each of Lafayette, California’s many neighborhoods has its own personality. The differences can be both subtle and obvious. The best way to begin to learn about Lafayette is to divide it into four quadrants that can be easily identified by Lafayette’s four award-winning public elementary schools.

The Reliez Valley Quadrant borders Lafayette’s Northeastern corner and includes neighborhoods served by Springhill Elementary. This is represented by the darker green area on the Lafayette Quadrant Map, above.

Considered Lafayette’s most rural area, Reliez Valley offers everything from larger traditional family neighborhoods and small courts off main roads, to Lafayette’s largest gated community and estates set back into the pastoral hills. You’ll also find townhomes here too!

There’s an eclectic mix of architecture ranging from California ranch to traditional homes that remind us of the East Coast. There are still a few original farmhouses too — a nod to Lafayette’s farming heritage. Sometimes, you’ll find all of this diversity along a single road, as neighborhoods transition from one generation to the next.

Homeowners in this Lafayette quadrant enjoy the benefits of excellent schools, easy access to Briones Regional Park, a popular local swim club, scenic cycling routes and the neighboring towns of Walnut Creek, Pleasant Hill and nearby Martinez.
