Get Organized Early for Kindergarten Sign-ups!
For families with young children entering Kindergarten in Fall 2012, that process begins next week, when the Lafayette Kindergarten Registration formally starts. If you’re new to this, know that the earlier you register, the better. So gather up the required documents and head to your local school on Tuesday, January 24 and 25, 2012, to get the ball rolling.
You can obtain the required documents from your local elementary school ahead of time but no registrations are accepted until the official registration dates and times.
According to the Lafayette School District Website, Kindergarten registration of children (born on or before November 1, 2007*) will take place at the district’s four elementary schools according to the following schedule:
Tuesday, January 24, 2012, and Wednesday, January 25, 2012
Burton Valley Elementary (927-3550) 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 – 3:00 p.m.
Happy Valley Elementary (927-3560) 8:30 – 11:30 a.m. and 1:00 – 3:00 p.m.
Lafayette Elementary (927-3570) 9:00 – 12:00 p.m.
Springhill Elementary (927-3580) 9:00 – 11:00 a.m.
You don’t have to bring your child on registration day. The registration process can take from 30 minutes to 2 hours, depending upon the number of parents attending.
Lafayette School Registration Requires Proof of Residency
Don’t forget your proof of residency. This is a multiple document requirement, and it’s changed over the years. So double check what is needed this year. Historically, the district has worked with families who are in escrow to purchase a home as long as you are within 30 days of closing. Please check the School District for the particulars.
