Keep the Kids Happy and Active with Lamorinda Summer Recreation
April 29, 2021
The summer offerings from Lamorinda’s three Parks and Recreation Departments provide fun for all ages. We are fortunate to be surrounded by amazing and varied summer programming, overseen by caring supervisors who engage and entertain our youth. Between the three towns – Lafayette, Moraga, and Orinda – you and your kids are sure to find a class or camp that appeals to you. Some of our favorites include:
Lafayette Parks & Recreation Department’s Camp Awesome: This summer camp, for ages 4 – 11, (chose 9am – 2pm, or 2pm – 5:30pm, or both) runs for ten weeks and includes magic and juggling shows, tie-dying, obstacle courses, carnival games, and playground activities. Click here for the full schedule, and to check out other classes like Kid’s Carpentry, Comic Book Creations, and Broadway Stars Musical Theatre Performance Camp.
Moraga Parks & Recreation Department’s Moraga Day Camp: Held at Moraga’s bucolic Hacienda de las Flores, this nine-week, 9am – 3pm, summer camp for kids age 5 1/2 – 11 features themed weeks with ‘Whacky Wednesdays.’ Example, ‘Hungry, Hungry, Safari’ week, with a ‘Pajama Day’ Wednesday.
