As we near the end of a very different school year, I would like to give a shout-out to our three local education foundations. These three amazing organizations serve to supplement and enhance curriculums and staff at our highly regarded public schools, well beyond what the state is able to provide.
Lamorinda residents know that healthy schools make for healthy communities, and our education foundations are essential to that equation. Each has served its community for four decades, and each has ably adapted to changing circumstances by continuing to provide enrichment such as art and music classes, and science fairs. Their support also helps to keep our class sizes smaller and more manageable. In Orinda, the former Education Foundation of Orinda is now ONE (Orinda Network for Education), serving the Del Rey, Glorietta, Sleepy Hollow and Wagner Ranch elementary schools, Orinda Intermediate School, and Miramonte High School. The Moraga Education Foundation serves Camino Pablo, Donald Rheem, and Los Perales Elementary Schools, Joaquin Moraga Intermediate School, and Campolindo High School. And Lafayette Partners in Education (LPIE) serves Lafayette, Springhill, Happy Valley, and Burton Valley elementary schools, Stanley Middle School, and Acalanes High School.
Each and every Lamorinda school routinely ranks highly within the state, and our education foundations are a major reason why. Whether you have a student in the school system or not, please consider joining the Dana Green Team in supporting these outstanding and committed foundations. When our local schools are stellar, our communities are the better for it.
