The February 2014 Bay Area Real Estate Update — and An Early Read on March

Pacific Union’s February Bay Area Real Estate Update is now online and the statistics tell a story of a strengthening real estate market throughout much of the Bay Area.

What’s happening in March? Buyers are entering the Lamorinda home search market in increasing numbers as they learn the outcome of the San Francisco School Lottery. Most of these buyers are serious, well-educated about our community, and prepared to bid if they see the home of their dreams.

The good news for buyers is that inventory is up. The not-so-good news is that inventory isn’t equally strong across all price levels. If you’re looking for a home in the $1-1.4 million range, come prepared to compete. There isn’t as much inventory in the market in this range.

Of course, this means good news for sellers who have been holding back.
